St. Peter’s Church at Swingfield

Last October the Churches Conservation Trust was awarded part of the government’s £1.57 billion Culture Recovery Fund.

£140,810 was specifically ring fenced for masonry repairs to the 13th Century tower at St. Peter’s. This was to address the damage being caused by water penetration through open joints and stone saturation. The repairs will help to ensure the integrity of the structure for many years to come.

Work started early in December 2020 and was completed by Easter 2021. The church has now been deep cleaned and is once again open to the public between 10.00 am & 4.00 pm.
